Saudi Arabia announced the launch of a new electronic visa that will facilitate the entry of international tourists to this country in Asia.
Until now, traveling to Saudi Arabia was extremely complicated, due to the restrictive policies for issuing visas, which only included pilgrims, businessmen and workers.
From now on, tourists from 49 countries will be able to manage the new electronic visa of Saudi Arabia. It will cost 120 USD, will be valid for one year and will allow multiple entries and trips of up to 90 days.
It is also mentioned that along with the new electronic visas, Saudi Arabia will modify certain requirements such as dress codes for women arriving in the country, making them less restrictive.
The 49 countries that will enjoy the new electronic visa of Saudi Arabia are: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Switzerland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Monaco, Malta, Montenegro, San Marino, Andorra, Russia, Ukraine , United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Luxembourg, Holland, Slovenia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Iceland , Latvia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
With the new visa, an increase in international tourists and foreign investments is expected. Arabia wants them to be 10% of its GDP by 2030.
Interestingly, the electronic visa excludes the poorest regions of the planet such as Africa, Latin America and Central Asia. Tourists from these places should contact the Saudi Arabian embassy if they wish to travel to the country.
